Using Universal Methods of Design, I worked with bold colors, playful shapes, patterns, and urban themes in my art, inspired by my upbringing in Vietnam. The atmosphere of Ho Chi Minh City, busy yet serene at times, profoundly shaped my perspective. Rather than using plain black and white, I incorporated vibrant pops of color to capture the liveliness of everyday moments.
Saigon is So Beautiful – English Lyrics Translation
[Verse 1]
Stopping by the pier when the afternoon sun still glows,
From afar, I see flowing áo dài in the breeze.
A joyful life, steps following one another to this place,
Saigon is so beautiful, oh Saigon! Oh Saigon!
Stopping by the pier when the afternoon sun still glows,
From afar, I see flowing áo dài in the breeze.
A joyful life, steps following one another to this place,
Saigon is so beautiful, oh Saigon! Oh Saigon!
[Refrain]
Carriages and cars flow like water, rushing down the streets,
People by the docks greet each other with lively chatter.
Wide, endless streets welcome my steps to join the joy,
Saigon is so beautiful, oh Saigon! Oh Saigon!
Carriages and cars flow like water, rushing down the streets,
People by the docks greet each other with lively chatter.
Wide, endless streets welcome my steps to join the joy,
Saigon is so beautiful, oh Saigon! Oh Saigon!
My palette features highly saturated hues, with blue, orange, and yellow as dominant colors. Remember spending early mornings with my mom at the wet markets, watching her bargain with friendly sellers who would charm the buyers, and enjoying phở for breakfast with my grandma amidst the bustling streets filled with students rushing to schools at 7 am.
