Dry Tortugas National Park is celebrated for its stunning seascape and the iconic Fort Jefferson. My goal was to immerse the audience in the beauty of the sea, highlighting the park's vibrant marine life. By casting a light on the coral reefs with Fort Jefferson as the centerpiece, I aimed to create an inviting visual portal. To enhance the aesthetic appeal further, I strategically utilized complementary colors. This poster not only includes essential information but also intriguing facts, inviting viewers to explore the wonders of Dry Tortugas National Park.
I approached this project with three distinct concepts: a vibrant illustration style, an eclectic collage, and a turtle-themed design. Each invites exploration and connection.
I dedicated much of my time to observing the graceful movement of Elkhorn corals. My goal was to craft a composition that would naturally guide the viewer's eyes toward the focal point: the stunning Fort Jefferson at the center. I found that if I didn't focus on the intricate details of the corals' natural movement, it became challenging to distinguish their unique shapes from those of flowers. This nuance was essential in capturing the true essence of the scene. natural movement
